He was asked to explain how he will strengthen Kenya’s participation in carbon trading agreements and attract climate finance to Kenya and other developing countries if he is appointed to UNEP.

In her answer, Ida emphasized her strength as a resource mobilizer, stressing the importance of her social capital and networks.

He explained that he would promote awareness and push for deeper Kenyan participation in carbon markets and multilateral trading systems to secure climate finance.

Ida also cited her extensive background in public service, policy advocacy at the regional, national, continental, and international levels, as well as her experience in education and the private sector, as resources to advance Kenya’s interests in UNEP.
