Kisumu – Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has exposed the fraud of the ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna about the issue of the wider government.
During the ODM Linda Ground rally in Ragumo, Kisumu East Constituency on Wednesday, February 26, the ODM chairman explained how a broad government was formed.
Wanga said that it was the Nairobi senator who wrote the 10-point agenda and explained it to the leadership of the ODM party.
“Unbeknownst to many, it was Edwin Sifuna himself who wrote the ten-point agenda in his office at KICC, as instructed by Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyongo. Sifuna was the one who signed it and explained the party’s position on behalf of the ODM party,” Wanga said.
The Governor of Homa Bay further explained how the leadership of the Orange party chose Senator Oburu Oginga to be the acting leader of the party.
He disclosed that as the chairman of the party, he convened a meeting of the National Central Committee following the death of the former prime minister Raila Odinga.
During the meeting, Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Nassir suggested the committee appoint a caretaker leader to help with the transition.
“On November 16, I convened an ODM NEC meeting to officially discuss the steps to be taken after the death of former party leader Raila Odinga a day earlier. During the meeting, Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir proposed that the party appoint a caretaker leader to continue leadership as the party transitions from the painful death of Raila Odinga. This proposal was supported by ODM Deputy Party Leader Governor Simba Arati and the proposal was unanimously approved. one with the party’s National Executive Committee,” he said.
The committee was attended by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Caleb Amisi among other NEC members, and they unanimously supported the decision to appoint Oburu as party leader.

In Mombasa region, the party convened a National Leadership Council, attracting delegates from across the country as part of ODM in 20 celebrations.
During this NGC, Wanga says Edwin Sifuna, as SG of the party, supervised the swearing in of Oburu Odinga as a party leader and wonders why he would come out claiming that he is in office illegally.

He further states that in January, the leader of the party called a meeting of the ODM Central Committee in Kilifi, a meeting that was to ensure the party is ready for the new year as well as power talks before next year’s general election.
The governor of Homa Bay claimed Sifuna boarded a plane to Mombasa, where he was seen at the airport. He later boycotted the meeting, claiming that he had missed his flight.
The meeting of the central committee continued without him being present and it was decided to start a conversation with the President William Ruto.
Governor Wanga said they will continue to strengthen the ODM party and are not interested in opposition politics as a party.
