What started as an urgent search for a missing young man has ended in great sadness after the body of Eric Lloyd Ochieng was found on Ngong Road in Nairobi.
Eric, a resident of Valley Hills, 4th Rise, Kerarapon Drive, had been missing since Monday, February 16.
His family says he left home at 5pm after receiving a WhatsApp call from an unknown person.
How did Eric disappear?
Fred Ochieng told TUKO.co.ke that on the day of his disappearance, Eric left home apparently to meet someone in the street, but he did not return.
He was wearing a gray long-sleeved T-shirt, dark gray sweatpants and a champali. As the hours turned into days, her family’s anxiety grew into panic.
Their worst fears were confirmed after his body was found on Ngong Road.
The remains were badly decomposed, indicating that Eric had been dead for several days before being discovered.
“We don’t know who wanted Eric to die because he was a gentle, loving and intelligent young man. He never wronged anyone,” Fred said in a sad and surprised voice.
Unanswered questions for the family
For families, unanswered questions are as painful as the loss itself. Why did he leave so quickly? Who called him?
And what happened between the time he left his home and the shocking discovery of his body in one of the busiest roads in Nairobi?
Kerarapon’s friends and neighbors have described Eric as a quiet and respectful person, focused on his goals. His sudden death has left the small community in shock.
While the investigation continues, his relatives are now dealing not only with the pain of losing their son, but also with the sad fact that his body may have remained undiscovered for several days.
