”The issue of finding a leader and who will lead us against Ruto must be a planned process. We will see how many votes we can get from our followers. We have a lifetime responsibility to save our country, and therefore this should not concern Sifuna,” Sifuna said.

Sifuna defended Linda Mwananchi’s efforts to promote many strong presidential candidates—at least ten—instead of focusing on one leader.

“I want us to develop this movement to the point where there are about 10 possible candidates for the presidency so that if they choose one, the other nine can run for the presidency,” said the Nairobi senator.

Is Uhuru Kenyatta funding Edwin Sifuna’s camp?

At the same time, Sifuna responded to the allegations that the former president Uhuru Kenyatta he was sponsoring Linda Mwananchi’s meetings.

Some of the supporters of ODM leader Oburu Oginga have been claiming that Linda Mwananchi’s visits were being sponsored by the former president’s political network to sabotage the Orange party before the 2027 elections.

However, Sifuna rejected the claims, explaining that the movement has largely depended on the good will of the people and public donations.

For example, the Nairobi senator revealed that many leaders who attended the meeting contributed about KSh 100,000 each.

During the same interview, Sifuna explained ODM Linda Mwananchi’s manifestos before the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna said Linda Mwananchi’s notices will not be about developments that are against the provisions of the constitution.

He criticized previous politicians for using ‘shiny objects’ such as stadiums, laptops, and roads to seek elections.

He claimed that all development spending must be transparent, as mandated by the constitution, citing the auditor general’s reports that reveal the corruption and dishonesty of some government officials.
