Collins Sichenje recently made his England debut when he played for Charlton Athletic in their Championship game against Southampton.

Sichenje has been the most talked about Kenyan player ever since he moved to England’s second division from the Serbian league.
In a country where Victor Wanyama the only one who has played in the Premier League and only a few in the major European leagues, Sichenje’s transfer was as big as it gets.
After being benched for three games by head coach Nathan Jones, the former quarterback of the AFC Leopards he was finally given his chance on Saturday, playing almost the entire game against the Saints on the South Coast of the country.

Inside Collins Sichenje’s contract at Charlton Athletic
The 22-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2029. The Addicks paid €1.9 million (about Sh290 million) for his services.
“It’s a good club with a good project, and I’m ready to start working. It’s a big step for my career. It’s a good opportunity to keep working, develop and help the team, so I just need to be humble and keep working – that’s the goal,” he said when he signed.
How much is Collins Sichenje paid in England?
Although these details have not been disclosed publicly, Capology, a website that looks at football contracts and salaries, has revealed the amount it earns.
Sichenje earns about 4000 pounds (KSh 694,485) every week, which translates to 208,000 pounds (KSh 36 million) every year.
The website collects statistics from publicly verified sources, sources close to the club or estimates wages based on algorithms that take into account the costs of each club’s staff from the club’s official financial statements and/or UEFA publications.
Capology reports that Conor Coady is the highest paid player at the club with the former Wolves captain earning £25,000 (KSh 4.3 million) weekly. Coady joined in January too, on loan from Wrexham AFC.

What’s next for Collins Sichenje?
The former PAOK man will be hoping that he impresses Jones so that he gets more minutes going forward. The Addicks return to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to The Hawthorns to play West Bromwich Albion.
They will then host Wrexham on Saturday, where Sichenje could meet his fellow defender Harambee Stars Zak Vyner.

Apart from Sichenje, the Kenyan players had a big win ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on home soil.
Hero of CHAN 2024 Manzur Okwaro joined Stade Reims in French Ligue 2, while U20 defender Amos Wanjala joined Valencia’s reserve team.
Zak Vyner ended his 20-year stay with Bristol City and joined Wrexham.
