Nairobi – The National Airports Authority (KAA) has dismissed reports that hired terrorists attacked the International Airport of Poisonous (KIA) on Saturday, February 21.

In a statement on Monday, February 23, KAA dismissed the allegations of the presence of unauthorized people and lack of security in KIA.

“We need to hear from KenyaAirports if Kisumu is still an international airport and if they can still ensure the safety of all passengers passing through there. How they allowed goons to block the airport needs to be explained. Secondly, we were all scheduled for commercial flights from JKIA. The airline shared our journey with the deaf in the Ministry of Interior knowing that our people were in danger. We are grateful for our safety sir. Intelligence and changing our travel plans,” Sifuna said.

But in a statement, KAA said that there had never been any unauthorized individuals or groups on the airport premises and that operations continued to operate.
“At no time were unauthorized persons, groups or illegal elements present on the airport premises. Airport access control measures remained fully functional and were strictly enforced in accordance with KAA security protocols and national aviation security regulations,” KAA said.
The authority stressed that operations at the lakeside airport remained normal and that there was no type of security breach.
“The Airport Security Committee and the Border Management Committee (BMC) working together with the government’s defense and security agencies, maintained full situational awareness and operational control throughout. Airport operations continued to be normal, safe and uninterrupted. There were no security breaches or disruptions to passenger safety, flight operations or airport infrastructure,” it said.

According to KAA, the photos shared by Linda Mwananchi’s team came from outside the airport, where KAA security has no authority.
“KAA further notes that the images circulating online were outside the airport area and beyond KAA’s security authority,” they added.
