A funny video has gone viral after a man from Nairobi was caught accidentally shouting “wantam” while waving to the President William Ruto in the Lucky Summer area, a few days ago.

The man was among hundreds of Nairobi residents who were standing on the side of the road to cheer the president’s motorcade as it headed towards Ngomongo area.

In a video that goes viral on TikTokthe man was filming himself waving excitedly towards the procession, and he saw the Head of State greeting him in the air as well.

For luck bad shouted “wantam”, a slogan coined by the opposition.

However, he quickly corrected himself and said “tutam”, as a sign of support for Ruto who was waving at him.

“Rutoo, wantam! No Tutam! Tutam! I said wantam,” he was heard saying in the video before bursting into laughter.

Kenyans express their feelings about Wantam’s clip

Many Kenyans have found the video exciting, with many mocking the man for his unintentional mistake, saying he might have been afraid of the president’s reaction.

Others said that although he changed his tagline to say “tutam”, his “wantam” statement was the most heartfelt.

Ruto’s speech visit

During his visit to Ngomongo, the Head of State spoke about how his partnership with Nairobi County will change the city.

“Through the Nairobi River Rehabilitation Program and Engineering Works, we are reshaping the future of the city; strengthening its resilience and positioning Nairobi as a truly world-class capital city.

I visited the completed main sewerage project in Lucky Summer, Ruaraka, Nairobi County, an important step in restoring dignity, improving sanitation, and providing essential infrastructure to our communities,” a statement published on his Facebook page explained.

Ruto was touched by a Garissa man’s milk business

In other news, a man from Garissa attracted Ruto during his visit to the Northern part of Kenya.

The man explained how he runs his milk business, touching the president and his message with the story of his hard work.

He also had the opportunity to speak with the Head of State, who asked the young man what he does for a living and what is his plan to spend 22,000 shillings.
