Lucy Wandia said the girl first went missing on Republic Day in December 2025, but was found a few days later, and explained the reason for running away from home; however, he disappeared again.
Speaking in an emotional interview, the mother burst into tears saying stress has affected her ability to eat, sleep or even work.
The Kirinyaga mother is now desperately searching for her daughter who went missing in mid-December 2025, which has left her deeply saddened.
Lucy Wandia said her 14-year-old daughter went missing on Republic Day in 2025 and was found a few days later.
Speaking to Kameme TV, Lucy said after her daughter returned home, she asked her why she disappeared, and the girl said she just wanted to hang out with her friends.
“He told me he ran away from home because I forbade him to go out with his friends. I took him to the hospital and told him we will talk about the friends he can have after finishing the medicine. However, he disappeared again, and since that day I have never seen him,” he said.
Kirinyaga’s mother asks for help
The disappearance of the daughter for two months now has left the mother fearing for her safety, as she prays every day that she will be found safely.
“I can’t even eat, sleep or go to work. I’m overwhelmed with stress because I don’t know where he is. Please come home. We need you,” he prayed with tears in his eyes.
The mother said she has visited almost all the towns around Kerugoya to look for her daughter without success. He has also asked for help from the police, but until now his daughter’s whereabouts are still a mystery.
In January, she bought all the necessary school supplies for her missing daughter, hoping she would return to join Form Four, but she never did.
“I had done shopping and prepared everything, hoping he would return home. He was supposed to join Kiangai Secondary School in Karatina,” he said.
A Nairobi father searches for his missing young son
In other news, a Nairobi father recently asked for help to find his little son who has been missing for several days.
The boy allegedly went missing while playing with his friends, and since then, his whereabouts have remained a mystery to his family.
What is more worrying is that the family has been scared after they started receiving messages demanding compensation.
“We received text messages from unknown numbers demanding money, saying they have a child. We did not answer them. There are rumors circulating that Prince has been found. I think they are now spreading rumors on social media, but they are false information. I still have not found my son. The last time he was wearing a blue jersey T-shirt, black jeans and black Crocs,” said the heartbroken father.
