Former Senator-elect Millicent Omanga has left the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ruling party under the leadership of the President William Ruto.

Omanga, follower of myou the leader of the UDA party and Ruto in the 2022 election, caused mixed feelings after praising the ODM movement of Linda Mwananchi Tour in Kitengela, organized on Sunday, February 15.

What did Omanga say about ODM’s Linda Mwananchi Tour?

The visit attracted thousands of Kenyans who stood in solidarity with former ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna and his team, including the Governor James OrengoEmbakasi East MP Babu Owino, Vihiga senator Godfrey Osotsi, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, and Kisii senator Richard Onyonka, among others.

The businessman was pleased with the turnout at the event, suggesting strong support for making Ruto a one-term president.

“Revolution is necessary… There is no fear… There is no turning back… Kaongo should go the way he is going. The power of Kitengela,” he said.

Earlier, Omanga confirmed that she will run for the Nairobi county women’s representative seat in 2027, a position she lost in the last polls.

“Many people have been asking what my plan is for 2027. I will be on the Nairobi Women’s Representative ballot. I will be with my people. I hear them, and we are together in this,” she confirmed during the ruracio event in Gatundu South.

His change of tune has drawn public debate over shifting political allegiances ahead of the 2027 election.

In related news, Mukurweini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia revealed that he left Ruto after he reportedly failed to build a dam for voters.

Kaguchia claimed that Ruto promised the dam, but several months later, he failed to fulfill the promise and instead decided to donate food to voters to campaign and bribe them to get the 2027 vote.

Furthermore, he accused Ruto of mismanaging taxes by paying political leaders who attend his State House meetings.
