Wanjiru only realized that he was talking to Uhuru after his daughter informed him. The three posed for a photo together, which quickly went viral on social media.
Speaking in 2021 about his brief conversation with Uhuru, Wanjiru said he regretted that the then president left quickly before he had a chance to ask him for help; he was also ridiculed by his neighbors who claimed he should have asked him for millions of money and land.
However, less than a week after meeting Uhuru, Wanjiru received a gift of two cows from him, delivered to his home by local politicians.
How is Eunice Wanjiru doing five years later?
Five years since that day, Wanjiru has not stopped remembering that unique event with the former leader of the country.
More interestingly, the two cows he received from Uhuru changed his life and that of his family.
“The cows that Uhuru gave me were pregnant at the time, and shortly after arriving home they gave birth, and I gave one calf to the church,” he said.
Since then, he has had enough milk that he sells for a profit, and the cows have produced four times more.
“Surprisingly, all the calves born have been females, which has made me have many cows to be milked for income, and others to sell at a good price. I am very grateful to Uhuru for changing my life,” he said.

An inspection of his home shows that he now has a modern shed for his cows, with modern equipment that makes his milking easy and time-saving.
“Now I cut their food with a machine, thanks to the income I get from milk. We have installed good lights in the shed for safety, and these make everything easier,” he added.
How Wanjiru became a mother who owns rental houses
Through her success in dairy farming, Wanjiru is now a mother who owns houses for rent. He explained how he used the income from the sale of milk to build rental houses.
Part of the project is complete, and already has tenants living in it.
“Many people mocked me when I celebrated receiving a cow, wondering what the cows could do for me. This is what they did for me. I bought land and built houses for rent. The project is still ongoing. I believe that as long as one is diligent, no gift is too small to change one’s life,” he said.
Wanjiru sincerely thanked Uhuru for changing his life, also saying that his daughter got a job after their meeting in 2021.
“He changed our lives. I pray for him every day that God protect him and give him good health,” he said.
