The member of parliament recently announced his intention to leave his current seat to compete for the position of senator in the next general election.

A video circulated on social media on Thursday, February 12, showed Jalang’o addressing a public meeting wearing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) scarf.

What did Jalang’o say about Sifuna?

“Local leaders are the backbone of leadership. Today I have joined the five MCAs of Westlands, Nairobi, along with their local leaders and coordinators. Together we are stronger,” he wrote citing photos from the event.

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politicians, incl Karen Nyamualso attended.

The former comedian assured the crowd that he will defeat Sifuna, who was recently removed as ODM secretary general.

However, the Political Party Disputes Court temporarily suspended his removal after he challenged the party’s decision.

The court issued an order to suspend the implementation of the decision until the matter is fully heard and decided.

“I will enter the ring with my brother Sifuna face to face,” Jalang’o said confidently as the crowd cheered.

“There is no running. If he wants to talk, let him talk. For these leaders, we will campaign fully. I will take Sifuna Kanduyi early the next morning.”

Jalang’o continued to say that some people are taking his bid to run for senator as a joke.

“That’s what they thought, and that’s how I will defeat them,” he added.

Despite his confidence, many Kenyans on social media expressed a different opinion, predicting that Sifuna will retain his seat while Jalang’o returns to entertain Kenyans.
