Manchester City scored Liverpool Sunday to move six points clear of the leaders, and with Mikel Arteta’s side yet to travel to the Etihad, the race is still open.

The underdogs will be ramping up their appetite for the game at the Etihad, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 and has all the makings of a title showpiece.

The two teams would also meet a month earlier in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium to fight for the first title of the season.

How Arsenal can play Man City five times in one month

However, in an interesting new scenario, the two teams may meet more often than the two already confirmed.

Arsenal and Manchester City could play five times in total in March and April, in what should be entertainment for the fans.

Considering that both teams are still looking for four players, a clash in the cup competition has not yet been ruled out.

1. Carabao Cup Final – March 22 (confirmed)

As already mentioned, the two teams will fight for the first honor of the season when they meet at the end of March in London.

2. Champions League quarter-finals – April 7/9, 14/16 (possible)

Arsenal qualified from the league stage with a perfect record of 24 points from 24, while Manchester City had Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin to thank, whose stunning goal ensured direct qualification to the Round of 16.

Now, Arsenal and Manchester City cannot meet in the Round of 16, but they can certainly meet in the quarter-finals as they are on the same path, as long as they beat their next opponents. If they are drawn against each other, that makes it two games in one week between the league’s top two teams.

Arsenal will face one of Atalanta, Borussia Dortmund, Olympiacos or Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16, with Manchester City playing one of Real Madrid, Benfica, Inter Milan or Bodo/Glimt.

The draw for the Round of 16 will take place on February 27 after the playoffs are over.

3. FA Cup – March 7, April 4, April 25, May 16 (possible)

Both sides are through to the fourth round, where Arsenal will play Wigan Athletic while Manchester City will play Salford.

If both win their opponents and given that the FA Cup draws are random, the two sides could be drawn against each other in the fifth round on March 7, or in the quarter-finals on April 4.

4. Premier League – April 18 (confirmed)

Also, as already mentioned, the second game of the Premier League will take place on April 18. The first game at the Emirates in September ended in a direct draw.
