The man in the viral video was seen trying to reach the president, who was speaking at Wajir Stadium.
What happened to Ruto in Wajir?
The leader of the country asked those gathered to involve the government in their prayers.
“When praying, remember us and the nation of Kenya. I want to tell the people of Wajir. Thank you…,” he said.
The man interrupted the president’s speech as he ran after him, but his security team was quick enough.
They ran and tackled the man to the ground, but the head of state ordered his team to let the man go.

“Leave him. Let him rest there. Sit down. I’ll see you later. Know that we love you very much and we want to work with you and we’ll come back here the way I told you,” he added.
The President was Wajir for the distribution of funds for the STAR project.
He also visited Mandera county and revealed that the government will open the Mandera Border Center to revive border trade.
“It is unacceptable that our fellow Kenyans in Mandera continue to be separated from their relatives and neighbors in Somalia due to the prolonged closure of the Mandera Border Post. Therefore, we will reopen the border post in April, restoring connectivity and reviving border trade for the common good of our people.
The President also promised to install a 3 megawatt generator to help with electricity stability.
“To deal with the severe shortage of electricity in the county, in the short term, we will install a 3 megawatt generator to stabilize the supply even as we accelerate plans to connect Mandera to the Ethiopian electricity grid for a more sustainable solution. In addition to the food aid currently distributed in the drought-stricken Northern Border, we are also providing fodder for livestock, the economic backbone of families in the area.”
