The woman in a TikTok video that went viral in 2025 claimed that she left the musician in an orphanage because she was having trouble raising him.

Judith claimed that it was part of God’s plan for Bahati to be brought up in an orphanage and that it contributed greatly to her success.

“Lucky, I ask for your forgiveness. Although you were told that your mother had died. I took you to a children’s center, and the reason I took you there was that I was not able to raise you. I saw the kind of life I was living, and I knew I would lose you. You can’t know God’s plan. He had plans for you. Look, if you had lived another life, we would have lost you. That’s why I took you to the children’s center,” he said.

She’s been in my mailboxes and today I got her number, and I said, ‘Let me listen to her.’ We said mother is mother. I want to call him. This doesn’t matter though, because he is Luhya and I am Mkamba. I’m Bahati Kioko, so I don’t understand,’ he said.
