In recent weeks, Ruto He has been organizing several meetings at the White House, including talks with those who want to run for positions on the ticket of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
The meetings have raised criticism from some politicians, who say that the activities confuse the boundaries between the responsibilities of the government and the issues of political parties.
Why does Gachagua see the White House as a crime scene?
In a press conference on Tuesday, February 10, the leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) claimed that the most prestigious public office in the country has abandoned its primary role.
Gachagua said the government is no longer working in the national interest but is advancing the political agenda of the parties towards the 2027 General Election.
His statements come while the debate continues about the constitutional case presented to the Supreme Court against the alleged use of the State House and State Lodges for the activities of political parties.
Gachagua supported the arguments made in the case regarding the recent conduct in the “house on top of the mountain,” saying the seat of the Kenyan government has been turned into a political command center.
“We agree with the case; the White House has become a crime scene. Instead of being a dignified institution where good policies are designed and announced, it has become the center of corruption and corruption. It is no longer a national institution that serves Kenyans. It is now the headquarters of the UDA party and William Ruto’s election campaigns,” said Gachagua.
Has Ruto abandoned his duties?
He continued to claim that the president has shifted focus from administration to campaign strategies, accusing him of putting politics ahead of service delivery.

His statements come when a constitutional case is before the Supreme Court, challenging the use of the State House and State Lodges for party political activities.
The case, filed under the Constitution and Human Rights Division, seeks a declaration that the use is unconstitutional and an illegal use of public resources.
The petitioner, Lempaa Suyianka, says the State House is funded and fully maintained by public funds and thus should remain without political bias.
According to court documents, the institution has been inappropriately turned into a meeting hall for political parties, a situation that gives the ruling party an unfair advantage while undermining the constitutional foundations of accountability and management of public funds.
The case mentions the Attorney General, the Comptroller of the Palace, the party UDAand Ruto in his official capacity as respondents.
