KU Student Gets Zero in Maths After Lecturer Discovers He Used AI

Things have gone wrong for a young student at the famous Kenyatta University after allegedly using ChatGPT to solve problems in a maths exam.

The test paper distributed on the internet Instagramshowed that the student answered the questions correctly, but his lecturer was not satisfied with the way he got his answers.

Although he had answered well and expected to pass the test, the student was stunned when the lecturer returned his paper with a 0 out of the mark.

That meant that there was no difference between that student and someone who just wrote his name and walked out of the exam room.

For all intents and purposes, that guy might as well not have written the exam that day.

How did the Kenyans advise the student?

Many people who saw the paper were also stunned and wondered why someone would go that far, as many use the AI ​​tool for research purposes only.

There is also another group of people who are even surprised that people use the AI ​​tool at all.

There were whispers from netizens about how the student was using the AI ​​device and how it should be used, with some suggesting that he looked like a professor just starting out while others said that he did not ‘humanize’ his presentation of the problem, but as it stands now the damage has already been done.

French University bans use of AI

In 2023, a major French university banned students from using ChatGPT to complete assignments, making it the first university in the country to do so.

The Sciences Po School in Paris, a prestigious French university, said students who used the chatbot would face “sanctions that could go as far as expulsion from the institution or even from higher studies”.

OpenAI, received a large amount of money from Microsoft and responded to simple tips and scripts inspired by data collected on the web.
