Who succeeded Junet Mohamed in the Declaration?
Leader of the Wiper Patriotic Front, Kalonzo Musyokawas named as the new leader of the coalition of parties, in a change approved during the National Executive Council (NEC) session chaired by the former president.
In the change, Suba North Member of Parliament Caroli Omondi was appointed secretary general, taking the place of Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed, who held that important position since the formation of the coalition.
However, on Wednesday, February 4, allied parties led by the National Liberal Party (NLP) and United Democratic Party (UDP) rejected the change.
Through a letter to the Registrar of Political Parties, the NLP claimed that the meeting allegedly called by Uhuru was held in great secrecy and involved parties that had already expressed their intention to withdraw from the Declaration.
Describing the changes as political tricks, the parties are now asking the Registrar of Political Parties to declare the resolutions null and void, and to provide the records of the meeting, the status of membership of the respective parties, as well as the union agreement document.
The NLP, under its leader Augustus Muli, asked the registrar not to approve the changes presented by the wing of the former president.
Did Edwin Sifuna support the change in leadership Resolution?
