Ideologically separatist politicians within ODM have started a public meeting named ‘Linda Mwananchi Tour’ to push their alternative agenda.

The leaders, including the Governor of Siaya James OrengoNairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, together with Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, started their visit to Busia county on Sunday, February 8.
Sifuna said they chose to start from Busia because of the large number of ODM members in the area. He emphasized that he will not be shaken by the current administration but will aim to implement the wishes of the former prime minister Raila Odinga before his sudden death in Kerala, India.

The team, which pushes the slogan ‘Wantam’, has been repeatedly opposed by its colleagues who support the President William Ruto towards the 2027 General Election.
Sifuna mentioned the challenges facing the residents of Busia, including the lack of medicine in the referral hospital, changes in mochwari services, and what he claimed were weaknesses in the education sector.
According to Sifuna, his position is based on the wishes of the people he represents.
“You are the ones who sent me. But when I raise your voice, they threaten to remove me from the post of secretary general… I want to tell you, they said we will not enter Busia, now where are we? Raila did not raise cowards!” he said.
Sifuna emphasized that the group will not support Ruto’s policies because they are not in line with the main principles of ODM that Raila managed.
In addition, he claimed that Ruto has not implemented the 10-point agenda despite the March 2026 deadline approaching.
Going on stage, Member of Parliament Grandfather Owino he criticized ODM leaders who are allegedly promoting Ruto’s agenda while ignoring Raila’s main goal of signing a broad political agreement.
“The party we have now is ODM Limited. It is a company that aims to make money. Now we are told that the party cannot produce a presidential candidate, nor does it want the position of deputy president. We want our leader Oburu Oginga to call the NDC and hand over the party to Babu because he has a reason.” said Grandpa.

He also said that the ODM protests contributed to the selection of several leaders, including secretaries of ministries with expertise, to enter the government.
The MP added that they will not back down in their efforts to develop the party, even if it means being removed from their political positions.
At the same time, thousands of Kenyans showed up at the meeting to support the leaders’ agenda.
Other MPs who attended included Caroli Omondi, Caleb Amisi, Joshua Kimilu, Majimbo Kalasinga, Anthony Kibagendi, and senators Richard Onyonka and Geodfrey Osotsi, who is also the deputy leader of the ODM party.
