Silas Abungana: The Police Arrested the Brother of the Alleged Murderer of the Homeboyz FC Player

The beloved player died on February 4 after a family dispute with his brother, who allegedly assaulted him.

It is reported that the footballer’s brother attacked him on the head with a club, leaving him with severe head injuries.

Abungana was rushed to the Kakamega County Referral and Teaching Hospital. His father, while recounting his son’s last moments, noted that he never imagined that a minor family disagreement would lead to death.

What happened to Silas Abungana?

The heartbroken father recounted how Abungana’s boyfriend went to the house of his brother-in-law, Denmark Muchiti, to borrow a stove, but was refused.

He went home and told his girlfriend how he was denied a stove, and the football player, in anger, cut off the electricity in his younger brother’s house.

Abungana’s 21-year-old brother retaliated by taking a club and hitting his brother on the head.

He then fled the scene after realizing his actions, and the police launched a manhunt for the young man.

Kevin Teya shared a photo of Muchiti in handcuffs, revealing that he had been arrested as the main suspect in his brother’s murder.

“Denmark Muchiti, the main suspect in the murder of Kakamega Homeboyz FC defender Silas Abungana, has been arrested after escaping. The police confirmed that Muchiti, who is the younger brother of the deceased, had fled following the incident but has now been arrested while the investigation continues,” he wrote.

In other news, the wife of the late football player disputed her father-in-law’s report.

She claimed that her husband stopped giving money to her parents. Abangana was the protector of the family.

The player stopped giving his parents money because he wanted to build a house. When he asked for a piece of land to build from his father, his brother attacked him.
