Many Kenyan women shared their worst dating experiences with police officers, with many claiming that they were dishonest, heartbroken, short-tempered, and greedy.

Do police officers know about romance?

Stella Akinyi, a 33-year-old marketing graduate shared her experience of dating a police officer, describing it as the worst moment of her life.

The single mother of two told TUKO.co.ke how the handsome prince she met on TikTok turned her into a punching bag. She revealed that after a week of meeting, they moved in together and she got pregnant almost immediately.

“The first year was good. He treated me like a queen. We had our second child in the second year and that’s when the problems started. He would come home late, stop paying the bills and while I was working, I did everything. Sometimes he wouldn’t sleep at home and whenever I asked him why the sudden change in behavior, he would beat me,” she said.

The mother of two revealed how her husband was infecting her with sexually transmitted diseases, and would attack her every time she raised him.

In the third year, Akinyi found the courage to leave her marriage after discovering that her husband had three other women, each with two children as his own.

“One of the “partners” befriended me on TikTok and created a WhatsApp group and added two others. We shared our painful stories and decided to confront him before I left the marriage,” he said.

The 33-year-old single mother revealed that she is taking time to heal from her past relationship, vowing never to date a police officer.
