“The young woman went to the kitchen and found her brother-in-law. She asked for a stove (a traditional cooking stove). They refused, saying she already had a gas stove. She returned home and told Silas that they had denied her a stove,” he explained.

Enraged by the incident, Silas retaliated by cutting off the electricity to his younger brother’s house, leaving him in the dark.

Furious, Muchiti took matters into his own hands. He took a club and struck Silas, causing him to fall to the ground, bleeding. The 21-year-old man then fled the scene after realizing the gravity of his actions.

The police have launched a search for him as the main suspect in Silas’ death. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

“My sons loved each other. There are three of them, and Silas was the eldest. He always took care of his siblings and us,” said Beatrice Khasiala, their mother.

Chiroi further claimed that the negligence of doctors at the hospital contributed to his son’s death.

“The doctors didn’t do much. They just gave him a drip and kept sending us to bring various things, which we did, but they were placed by his bed. The staff kept sending us from one person to another,” he said.

The player’s body is currently at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital mortuary.
