On Wednesday, February 4, the budding politician posted photos showing how he celebrated his birthday.
Was Mama Ida visited by a Gaucho who was celebrating bathidei?
Gaucho celebrated his special occasion with a cake in Mom’s office Ida Odinga. As seen in the picture, Mama Ida used a spoon to feed her piece on her birthday.

“Today is my first birthday without a FATHER! Thank you to my mother, mother Idah Odinga for the birthday cake and wishes,” he wrote.

Why did Gaucho recommend Ida Odinga to lead ODM?
As previously reported, Gaucho said that Mama Ida could lead the ODM party to greater heights if given the chance.
The party, since the death of its long-time leader, Raila Odingahas faced a leadership crisis, with groups pushing their respective agendas and threatening its unity.
The Orange Party is currently under the interim leadership of Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga.
According to Gaucho, Ida represents the same order and authority as her late husband, Raila, qualities that Oburu does not see.
He realized that ODM officials would rather listen to him than the party’s interim leader.
“After finishing the funeral, I believe he should lead the party. He will be needed to make it strong. He has more order compared to Oburu. He has voice and authority,” Gaucho noted.
Gaucho, who aspires to become an MP in the next parliament, also claimed that Ida could easily inherit Raila’s political strongholds if she chose to do so.
He described him as someone who stepped up and influenced the upcoming general election in areas where Raila enjoyed strong support. Gaucho welcomed Ida to a political position, noting that she has the power to challenge the status quo.
“Mama will have a hand in the 2027 elections. She is a force to be reckoned with. She will influence the elections in the areas that Raila controls, Nyanza, West, Coast, and even Nairobi. Anyone who thinks she will not have influence is deceiving herself. She must give herself to the party. Other officials would respect her more than Oburu. I believe she has what it takes to lead the party,” Gaucho concluded.
