Another bullet went through his stomach, damaging his intestines, kidneys, pancreas, and liver, which caused a severe infection.

“According to the doctor, the person who fired the shot was very close, that’s why the bullet was able to go through. The bullet affected his intestine, kidney, pancreas, and liver. When it hit those parts of the body, it caused a severe infection,” Daniel Kanchori, the family’s lawyer, said after about two hours.

The family has made it clear that funeral arrangements will not proceed until the authorities take immediate action.

“Now we want to leave here knowing that action will be taken. The collected samples, including the spent bullet casings, should not pass Monday without this case being taken to court,” said Kanchori.

Kevin, aged 32, is survived by his wife and four children and his brother, Paul Maseri, described the tragedy as heartbreaking.

“It’s going to be a long journey ahead. It’s very unfortunate, very unfortunate,” Paul said in a shaky voice.
