3 KDF soldiers die during training in Eldoret: “They suffered from health problems”

The Kenya Defense Force (KDF) has announced the tragic death of three soldiers at the Defense Force Recruit Training School (DFRTS) in EldoretUasin Gishu County.

In an official statement on Friday evening, January 30, KDF it said the three suffered health problems in the middle of training.

They had joined their comrades when they met their tragic deaths on Thursday, January 29.

“The Kenya Defense Force (KDF) is deeply saddened to announce the loss of three recruits during a planned training exercise. The recruits suffered health complications while participating in a routine endurance exercise,” KDF said.

According to KDF, the three were given medical assistance by the local medical team before being taken to Eldoret Regional Hospital for special treatment.

For luck Unfortunately, all efforts to save them were in vain, as they were confirmed dead in the regional hospital.

“Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead despite the concerted efforts of the attending medical teams,” KDF said.

Their families were immediately contacted to be informed of the tragic incident.

The armed forces also sent its experts to help the family cope with the sad reality.

“The next of kin have been officially informed, and the Kenya Defense Forces are providing the necessary assistance and support to the affected families. KDF offers its deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, colleagues and co-workers of the deceased at this difficult time,” KDF said.

At the same time, an investigation was launched and led to a disaster.

The results, KDF said, will be used by the armed forces to prepare for such emergencies.

“A thorough investigation has been initiated in accordance with established military procedures to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The findings will inform any necessary measures to enhance the safety and well-being of personnel undergoing training,” KDF said.

“The Kenya Defense Forces remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism and care for all its personnel,” it added.
