Nurse Judy Urges Kenyan Nurses To Look For Jobs In America: “Pay Over KSh 1m Weekly”

This is for transparency of payments and opportunities in America only,” he warned.

How much are nurses in the United States paid?

Judy then said that some of the highest paying states in the US are California, New York, and Oregon, and one needs licenses to work there.

“Those are the states that strike most often and have the highest rates of pay. Right now, New York is still going on for weeks, and the rates have gone up to KSh 21,000 an hour.

In California, strike pay is between KSh 14,000 and KSh 17,000 per hour, depending on the organization you are employed by.”

Judy then said that in California, working more than eight hours is considered overtime.

“Another area with high rates is Nurse Practitioner Services, especially in California. My private clients pay between KSh 10,000 and KSh 14,000 per hour. Some require 24 hours to live, meaning you can earn over KSh 320,000 in one day.”

Judy noted that the key is knowing where the money is.

“Let’s go and earn money when we take good care of our patients with passion and love. But earning more than one million a week is why I keep encouraging nurses in Kenya to come here.

I will talk about the nursing of health care workers in the video as well. This has been very beneficial to me since I started at the end of last year.”

In other news, Judy revealed that she gave her domestic worker a salary increase of KSh 35,000 in August 2025, after the worker asked to work alone.

She compared the salaries of her housekeeper to that of Kenyan nurses, noting that she pays her more than many private hospitals pay their staff.

Judy emphasized that her experience with her staff is positive, although she acknowledged differing opinions from others about her approach.
