Former Member of Parliament for Kipipiri, Amos Kimunya, has touched many Kenyans after he wrote a tribute to his late wife on the second anniversary of her death.

Kimunya’s wife, Lucy, died on January 30, 2024 while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
Two years later, the politician still cherishes his memories, according to his Facebook post.
In the touching message posted today, 30 January 2026, Kimunya said he continues to cherish the good memories he made with her during their marriage of more than 40 years.
“On a date like this, January 30 two years ago, our beloved Lucy Wanjiru Muhinga left us, but her memories live in my heart and in every day of my life, as I continue to appreciate the love and good times we shared in the more than 40 years I knew her. We believe her happy spirit is somewhere in heaven, watching over us and continuing to guide our lives,” he said.

Amos Kimunya opens up about getting used to life without his wife
In that sad message, Kimunya noted that he had to get used to life without his partner, but with luck good he has been getting support from friends and family during that difficult period.
However, despite the help in what he called the ongoing process of recovery, he still misses and loves him, and also thanks God for the years they spent together and the beautiful family they built.
He concluded by saying that Lucy is also greatly missed by their children, grandchildren, friends and other family members.
“To all who stood with us on this journey, we say thank you very much, and may God bless you abundantly. I miss him very much, I will continue to love him always, and I will thank God forever for giving us to be with him for the years we spent together. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his spirit continue to live in us forever,” he added.

Taita Taveta MCA has lost his wife
In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported about Taita Taveta MCA who lost his wife during childbirth, and sadly, a few days later he also lost his child.
Information from the county assembly showed that the MCA’s wife, Stellah Machocho, underwent a successful emergency surgery (C-section) on the evening of July 7, 2025, and their baby girl was born safely.
Sadly, the mother developed health problems later that led to her death. This happened only about two years after their wedding.
