He was responding to reports that suggested he was looking to join the President’s camp William Ruto.

The MP criticized those spreading the rumours, stressing that he cannot be persuaded by money, if Ruto’s side really had that intention.

“I see the ‘Singapore’ bloggers are now following me. They should remind Jayne Kihara who is in Kenyan politics. I think they are used to dealing with politicians whose only language in politics is money, and now they think every politician has a price,” he said.

Has Jayne Kihara left the Gachagua camp?

Kihara explained that he had made a decision a long time ago not to be associated with Ruto, adding that nothing meaningful could attract him back Kenya First.

He said he has put himself fully into the movement of the Opposition Union against the current administration, which he accused of several evils, including corruption and arbitrary killings.

The Member of Parliament emphasized that he is not one of the politicians who are swayed by money, adding that he is ready to do anything for the interests of Kenya.

“To avoid doubt, I left the false camp a while ago, and I didn’t leave anything of mine there that would make me come back. If you are looking for leaders to buy with the public money you stole, and someone suggested my name, please bring them back to the market,” said Kihara.

“The journey to free this country from the chains of corruption, dictatorship, arbitrary killings and lies is not about Jayne Kihara or Rigathi Gachagua, but about the current and future generations. Some of us are ready to sacrifice ourselves for this nation,” he added.

Gachagua loses some of his allies to Ruto

At the same time, Gachagua has been losing some of his allies who are moving to Ruto’s camp.

Member of Parliament for Githunguri Gathoni Wamuchomba and Juja George Koimburi have joined Ruto’s side after a period of supporting Gachagua in opposing the current administration.

Wamuchomba, in a clear statement, said Gachagua’s behavior makes him unworthy of national leadership.

He hinted that joining him politically was difficult, indicating that he had withdrawn from his previous position of opposing Ruto.

The MP defended Ruto’s return to politics, saying the move will benefit the residents of Githunguri developmentally.

Why did George Koimburi leave the Gachagua camp?

For his part, Koimburi claimed that the Gachagua camp was deceptive and harmful to Kenyans, especially the Mt Kenya communities.

Koimburi claimed that Gachagua has turned the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) into a way to get money, charging those who want to run with promises of tickets for the 2027 election.

He also accused Gachagua of using his followers to strengthen his political position while leaving them to face a difficult political environment while he protected himself.

Koimburi said he will now join Ruto’s camp to push forward development projects in Juja.

Predicting criticism for leaving the opposition, he explained that no one from Kenya Kwanza followed him or paid him to change his position.
