A family in North Mugirango, Nyamira county, is in mourning after the tragic death of their 16-year-old son, Onesmus Raini.

Onesmus, a Form Three student at Kisii High School, reportedly fainted at school and was rushed to Kisii Referral Hospital (KTRH) for treatment.
However, pronounced dead on arrival, leaving his teachers, classmates, and most of all, his family in shock.
Speaking in an interview with Etaya TV, the family, who appeared heartbroken, expressed their pain and confusion, noting how a boy who had always been healthy could suddenly faint and die.
How was Onesmus Raini’s family notified of his death?
His aunt, speaking through tears, shared how they received the sad news of the young man’s death.
“My sister called me and said she received a call from Kisii School. The teachers said Onesmus was sick. I rushed to KTRH and found him lying on the table,” said the sad aunt.
Another relative explained that they were informed that the student was in class with his classmates early in the morning when he suddenly fainted and was rushed to the hospital.
He said that Onesmus and his sisters had been supported by their mother alone after the death of their father many years ago.
He explained that the mother had struggled to provide for her children, and it was very sad to lose her son when he was about to finish his studies.
He called the management of Kisii High School to assist the family with funeral preparations.
“This family will need financial help. They cannot afford the expenses alone,” he said, his voice full of worry.

His sister, overwhelmed with grief, shared that Onesmus was their last child. He remembered their last conversation, wondering how he could die so suddenly.

“He called me on January 22 asking for spending money. I asked if he had used the amount that his mother had given him when he left home to go to school, and he said yes. I promised to send him the money immediately, which I did,” he said.
This young woman was surprised when she received a phone call from her other brother on January 27, informing her that Onesmus had died.
“He was always in good health, he didn’t have any health problems, except for an eye problem,” the sister said, her voice filled with sadness.
How did a Form Three student in Kiambu die?
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that a young man identified as Jimmy Anaro died after falling ill at school.
The student’s condition was reported to have worsened after he was denied permission to go to the hospital, but he was later rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died.
His mother, Christine Nyangweso, expressed her pain and shared how she received news of her son’s condition normally.
