Winnie Odinga Slams Salah, Says His Claims Are Misleading: “Sad”

Nairobi: EALA Member of Parliament and daughter of a former prime minister, Raila Odingahas dismissed claims that Oketch Salah was with the former leader in all his pain.

His refusal followed Salah’s frequent public appearances and allegations justifying his relationship with the former ODM boss.

Does Winnie Odinga know Oketch Salah?

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, January 27, Winnie admitted meeting Salah, but did not give any details about his relationship with Odinga’s family.

“I’ve met him, but I’d like to believe no one really knows him,” he said.

The famous and radical MP expressed disappointment with Salah’s claims, suggesting that some actions may be due to medical conditions that require immediate attention.

Winnie described Raila’s death as very sad and urged respect for the deceased, especially from those who claim close ties.

“I also feel sorry for him. You know my father died, and that was a very sad event for me. But at least he died surrounded by someone he knew loved him very much. And I believe people should take good care of their loved ones, and mental health is a very important thing,” he said.

The politician claimed that Salah, who claims to be Raila’s adopted son, has been lying to the public about his last moments with the late national leader.

What did Winnie Odinga say about Oketch Salah?

He hinted at the need for an investigation into the allegations or a mental examination as part of Kenyans continue to question Salah’s remarks.

“When you leave here and go to Thika Road, there are two options: either turn right when you go to Mathare or turn left when you go to DCI because it is a complete lie that you were there at the time of my father’s death, and you were not there, and talking about things that did not happen is very dangerous and makes me question his intentions. I believe there are places where he should be rushed, one or the other,” he insisted.

At the same time, when concerns arose about the former leader’s whereabouts before his death, Salah posted pictures of them together, assuring the country of his good health.

Recently, Salah said that he would publicly address the allegations made against him after the death of the former opposition leader.

He claimed that they had several private conversations with Raila, including political and personal matters too sensitive to share with the grieving family.

However, Salah insisted that he has never disrespected Raila’s widow or his daughter, adding that his relationship with Raila was never forced.

Meanwhile, the MP refused to share his last conversation with Raila a few hours before his sudden death.

Winnie revealed that they had a two-hour conversation discussing everything, but everything was private and therefore not public.

He promised to honor Raila’s legacy, uphold his vision, and improve the lives of many people.
