The Lions of Teranga beat Morocco on January 18 in Rabat to win their second continental title, but the game was full of controversy and drama.
The difficult game took a different course in the final minutes when Senegal came out to protest after DR Congo referee Jean-Jacques Ndala gave Morocco a penalty after El Hadji Malick Diouf beat Brahim Diaz.

Senegal arrives before the CAF disciplinary committee
The Senegalese Football Federation appeared before the CAF disciplinary committee to answer questions while the governing body continued its investigation.
“The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) informs the national and international public that it arrived on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, before the Disciplinary Jury of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This process follows the reports of the match officials as well as the objections issued by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation at the end of the AFCON Morocco 2025 final.”
The FSF was presented by the secretary general and his lawyer Seydou Diagne. Head coach Thiaw and players Ismailla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye also presented their defense.
The statement further revealed that a decision will be made within 48 hours on the type of sanctions Senegal will receive.
