Popular gospel artist DJ Krowbar is mourning the sudden death of his wife, Joyce Wanjiku Karumba.

On Monday, January 26, Crowbar shared the sad news, saying that his wife had passed away in the early hours of the morning.

What happened to DJ Crowbar’s wife?

Initial reports indicate that Wanjiku’s death is linked to kidney problems that he had been battling for some time.

He previously underwent a kidney transplant in 2025 as part of his medical journey.

Joyce is survived by her husband, DJ Krowbar (real name Fredrick Karumba), and their three children, Toria, Riri, and Imani.

As the family begins funeral preparations, they have asked friends, fans, and good Samaritans for financial help to give Wanjiku a proper burial.

How did DJ Mo console DJ Crowbar?

Following the tragedy, messages of condolence have continued to pour in from fans and co-stars who have surrounded Crowbar and his family.

Among those who have shown their support publicly is a gospel music artist DJ Mo.

Mo took to social media, sharing a video of his memory with his wife, Size 8, spending time with DJ Krowbar and the late Wanjiku.

In the clip, the two couples were seen laughing, embracing each other warmly, and making happy noises about their relationship.

Wanjiku looked lively and full of life in the video, as she and Crowbar wore matching outfits. Mo added that the couple have been close friends of his family for many years.

Along with the clip, Mo wrote a touching message to comfort Krowbar.

“I am so sorry for your loss, brother. My heart goes out to you during this very difficult time. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you, give you strength and surround you in peace. Please know that you are not alone; we are here for you, Karosh. Be strong, goodbye Karosh.”

What happened to Betty Bayo?

Wanjiku’s death comes just months after a group of gospel singers mourned the death of the gospel singer Betty Bayo.

The famous 11th Hour artist died while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital, a few days after doctors diagnosed him with an aggressive form of leukemia.
