He explained how he and his wife are struggling, claiming that there are people enjoying their son’s money.
Kiptum died in a road accident with his Rwandan coach in February 2024.
The marathon runner was buried in an emotional funeral on February 23, and since then life has not been the same for his parents.

Elder Samson Cheruiyot once again complained about being separated from his son-in-law. He revealed that he has never received his son’s money for almost two years since his death.
In the video he shared on TikTokSamson Cheruiyot, a heartbroken father, explained his plight saying he has been trying unsuccessfully to get his son’s money since his death.
He claimed that an influential person in the government along with the athlete’s widow denied their family their right.
“I have been through a lot, and I am not afraid to say that there is one person in the government from Keiyo who has tortured us a lot. He and Asenath went to Rotterdam. He had Kiptum’s birth certificate and pretended to be Kiptum’s parent. He has tortured us a lot and then went to live in another country. As Kiptum’s parents, we have been treated very badly,” said the father in pain.
Elder Cheruiyot, who was speaking while standing near his son’s grave, claimed that the influential man went to Rotterdam with Asenath in April 2024, two months after Kiptum’s death, where they deprived the family of their right.
“I curse you and Asenath while I am here at my son’s grave…. I want to ask President Ruto, since Kiptum’s death we have not received any help or his service money. His car is still at the police station. Why have the police not released the car almost two years since Kiptum’s death? Asenath knows everything about that car. Thank you,” said the father who was deeply saddened.
