Rigathi Gachagua’s allies say that Tosha is running for the presidency on the opposition ticket

Kirinyaga: Leaders who follow the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua have supported him as their preferred choice to carry the opposition presidential ticket in the 2027 General Election.

The leaders made the remarks on Saturday, January 24, during the Kagumo meeting, where the leader of the Democratic Party of the People (DCP) campaigned for the President William Ruto in the year 2022.

Why should Gachagua be the opposition candidate for citizenship?

During the meetings, the deputy leader of the DCP Cleophas Malala claimed that the only person who can succeed in opposing Ruto is Gachagua, who allegedly contributed a lot to his victory in 2022.

“We were in his inner circle. If it wasn’t for Riggy G, he wouldn’t be president. Ruto has decided to fight against all those who helped him become president.

“So I want to tell you, among all the presidential candidates, only Gachagua can remove him from power. The only strong person who is loud and always speaks the truth is Gachagua. Like the western region, we have agreed that it will be Riggy G. Even the people of the North East have approved his ambition. Now will the Mt Kenya region overthrow their son?” he asked, adding that DCP is a national party.

Malala also targeted the government and raised concerns about the government’s priorities and accountability following the appointment of the former prime minister’s widow. Raila OdingaIda Odinga, in a high position in UNEP.

What are Gachagua’s plans if he is elected president?

Speaking at the same event, Gachagua promised to correct what he called the mistakes that Ruto made after the last election.

The former vice president announced his important manifestos if he is elected as the sixth president of Kenya.

He promised that he would cancel the SHA and Affordable Housing projects, ensure that the coffee farmers are paid their debts, make education free in primary and secondary day schools, restore the honor of the pay slips of all civil servants, and supervise the arrest of all military and police officers involved in the killing of Gen Z during protest of the chaos of 2024 and 2025.

“The residents of the North East have been oppressed for a long time by their leaders. I will go there, the young people from that area have invited me to help them in their journey to freedom and self-determination,” he added.

While admitting that he contributed to the region’s challenges by supporting the president in the 2022 election, Gachagua vowed to defeat Ruto in the next election.

“Because I was the one who got you into trouble by bringing Ruto here, I will lead the journey to take Sugoi home in 2027,” said Gachagua.
