A man has come forward claiming that veteran comedian Eddie Butita looks like him and now he is asking him to consider helping him.

This comes after a number of ordinary Kenyans came forward looking to meet their lookalikes who are in the limelight.
The latest was a veteran comedian Eric Omondiafter a man from Githurai was caught during a meal explaining how he would like to meet his sweetheart (a look-alike).
Many took the similarities here and there and pushed Eric to find a man of Githuraiwhich he did, and they started creating content together.
What does a guy who looks like Eddie Butita want?
In the interview, the content creator, who claims to be Butita’s brother, has his face, which is not very attractive at first.
He also claimed that people keep asking him if he is the comedian, which confirmed his resemblance to the comedian-turned-businessman.
“People can’t even let me breathe. They always want to take a selfie. There was a wedding I attended two years ago, and they asked me if I was Butita,” he said.
When asked if he has ever been in touch with the comedian, the excited man shared that he has yet to receive a response since he messaged her.
“Yes, I sent him a text message, but he never answered. I can only tell him to come for his brother, he is suffering, eh, I am suffering a lot,” he added.

Elsewhere, in July 2025, Butita surprised netizens after he introduced his new girlfriend, model and content creator Celle Terer, three years after his breakup with fellow comedian Eunice Mammito, following the revelation, he received many compliments from famous fans and friends, many of whom had teased Butita about being the only close member in his social circle.
Although the couple said at the time that they had been dating for less than a year, the public recognition was an important step for Butita, who had faced pressure from family and friends to settle down.
The introduction also fulfilled Butita’s long-standing promise to her grandmother by introducing her to her new lover during an exciting visit home.
