In the farm, life revolves around coffee farming, Nellore cattle breeding, and small vegetable gardens, continuing the traditions he inherited from his parents and ancestors.

The farm, once the largest, has shrunk over the years but is still large, covering about 105 acres.

Despite her advanced age, Seu Neném is still cheerful and sane.

“I can see a house in the distance,” he says, a statement that surprises the guests.

However, time has left its mark: his siblings have died, the family has dwindled, and loneliness has become a constant companion.

Seu Neném’s past relationships

Before moving permanently to his current farm, he lived in various cities, including Monte Santo for four years, although he has always preferred the tranquility of the countryside to city life.

His work in the field was very heavy in the past. He remembers producing about 100 liters of milk a day from dairy cows, although today the activities have decreased and are more focused on family self-sufficiency.

Some of its animals are known for their size, including bulls weighing up to 800 kg, which is impressive even by the standards of the area.

When it comes to love, Seu Neném’s life has been unique.

He had several lovers and was engaged up to six times, although he sometimes reduces that number and says there were only three official engagements.

Why Seu Neném never married

However, none of them resulted in marriage. He attributes it to family situations, including a violent incident where his brother was shot, a tragic event that ruined one of his big wedding plans.

Conflicts within the family as well as farm responsibilities also contributed to the indefinite postponement of marriage.

Living alone does not mean complete isolation. Family members still help her with food, shopping, and daily needs, although Seu Neném continues to love the tranquility of rural life.

His house is filled with antiques: kerosene lamps, metal cans, and kitchen utensils, each a testament to a life rooted in tradition.

The philosophy of Seu Neném

He fondly remembers his youth days, fishing trips, village tournaments, and social dances held in the coffeehouse hosted by his mother.
