How did Raila fall into his Karen home?

He explained that Raila’s famous bodyguard and aide, Maurice Ogetta, had already left the job.

Instead, it was Francis Ogolla, another member of Raila’s security team and a relative, who helped him at the crucial moment.

“I moved quickly to help him, and he fell on my chest. I called Francis to bring me a chair, and while he rushed to it, I helped Baba sit down carefully. In those few minutes, with Baba leaning on me, I really thought things would change that night. It was a heavy moment; confusing, scary and painful to witness,” Salah narrated.

According to him, the incident happened before Raila’s medical trip to India.

However, Salah insisted that Ogetta remained a loyal and dedicated officer who served Raila faithfully, even in his last days in India.

Salah described his role as personal and emotional.

“I was with Baba in all his pain. I know how it felt. There were times when I really thought I was losing him. Times when only one guard and I were there, holding Baba, trying to calm him, trying to help him through the pain. This is not a story. This is a direct experience,” he said.

Is Oketch Salah trying to be more important than Raila’s family?

He also addressed rumors that he tried to take over or appear more important than Raila’s family.

Salah firmly denied the allegations, saying that he never disrespected Raila’s widow, Mama Ida Odingaor the children of the former prime minister.

“Any suggestion that I insulted them, isolated them, or spoke ill of them is false and malicious. I completely reject it,” he added.

Salah insisted that he was there because Raila allowed it time and time again and entrusted him with important events, including personal, political, and strategic talks.
