Harriet now thanks the kind Kenyans who responded to her distress calls and visited the restaurant to eat her food.

When did Harriet Akinyi start the restaurant?

He says that kindness, not only saved his business but also his sanity, as he was about to lose it due to the losses he was experiencing every day.

“I started this business on November 1, 2025. For the first month, things were fine but from the first week of December until I posted the video, things were very bad, because sales increased from KSh 15k to 19k to less than a thousand per day,” he said.

Harriet said the losses she was incurring in her new hotel stressed her out, as she had to go back into her pocket to get the business back on track.

“I was hurt because I knew the amount of money I had invested in the business. There was a time when I had no sales. I was throwing stock since I was cooking, but no customer was coming to eat. Then I spent all the money I had, and that’s when I reached the top,” he recalled.

“One day I made only KSh 324. I came home, and I just cried. Sometimes, I also cried while I was here. I didn’t let my staff see it,” he added.
