Shawn Mark Mwangi, aged 23, disappeared from the area Kasarani just one year after graduating from college.
The family reported the incident at the Kasarani Police Station, but claims they did not get any help.
On December 27, the distraught family went to the funeral home, where their worst fears were confirmed.
His mother, Sarah Nyambura, recalled how she faced financial challenges to send her son to university, then lost him in the hands of unknown people.
The grief-stricken mother explained how she found her only child lying in a coffin after several days of searching for him.
“I saw him. His face was swollen, and he was bleeding from his ears and mouth. The situation was terrible,” he said, claiming that his body had begun to rot.
In addition, Nyambura said that Mwangi’s body had signs of being stabbed, his back was broken, and he was also hit on the head with a blunt instrument.

Where did Shawn Mwangi die?
Trying to understand what happened, the grieving mother said she was told her son’s body was taken to the morgue as an unknown person after it was found from a river in Kasarani area.
“He had a wound on his hand and forehead,” he explained.
More than the grief of the family, Mwangi was found wearing a t-shirt that did not belong to him. The situation raised questions about whether the boy was abducted and killed before being thrown into the river.
Despite the autopsy showing that Mwangi was beaten before he was killed, the police have not taken any action that could help the family get justice.
This murder case adds to the series of murder cases in the country that have left many parents suffering and seeking justice.
