Nairobi: Ruto Meets George Gachagua, Other Nyandarua MPs Following the Honeycomb

President William Ruto on Tuesday he held a packed schedule of meetings and talks at the State House, Nairobi, talking about national development, diplomacy, and urban business infrastructure.

Among the important meetings led by the president was a consultation session with MPs from Mt Kenya from Nyandarua county, where the discussion focused on the development agenda of the administration of Kenya First.

Sharing details of the meeting, Ruto said the government is implementing many plans aimed at changing the country.

“We are transforming our country through many initiatives, including revitalizing agricultural production, universal healthcare, construction of affordable housing, modern markets, hostels, roads, and connecting citizens with electricity and water, among others,” Ruto said in a Facebook post.

The President noted that Nyandarua county is fully in line with the government’s change agenda, with several major projects already underway.

Affordable housing projects are being implemented in all states, while construction of modern markets is underway in Kwa Haraka, Miharati and Ndaragwa.

The government is also upgrading and expanding the JM Kariuki Referral Hospital in Ol Kalou.

Ruto further emphasized the role of higher education in the county’s development plans.

“Meanwhile, Nyandarua University, which admitted the first 190 students in September 2025, is the center of our plans. We will improve the infrastructure in the university, including the construction of a tuition building and a library,” he added.

Leaders who attended the meeting included Nyandarua Women’s Representative Faith Gitau, MPs Kwenya Thuku (Kinangop), Njuguna Kiaraho (Ol Kalou), George Gachagua (Ndaragwa) and Michael Muchira (Oljororok).

What did Ruto tell the ambassadors during the meeting with them at the White House?

Earlier that day, the president held talks with some Kenyan ambassadors and high commissioners before officially sending them to their respective stations abroad.

Ruto said diplomats have a clear responsibility to promote mutually beneficial relations, protect Kenya’s national interests and represent the country with dedication and integrity.

He noted that their work will be guided by economic diplomacy based on results, based on the administration’s roadmap to transform Kenya into a first world economy.

The delegates were tasked with pursuing strategic business and investment opportunities that support the country’s development agenda, create good jobs for the youth, and accelerate progress towards shared prosperity.

Later, the president met with chairmen and members of the Nairobi county market committees, including Kangundo Road, Wakulima, Muthurwa, Burma, Kangemi, City Park, Othaya Market (Woodley-Jamuhuri), Kawangware and Gikomba.

Ruto emphasized that his administration is committed to businessmen, including greengrocers, noting that the government is building 450 modern markets across the country and has established the Hustler Fund to provide cheap loans and reduce the exploitation of unskilled people.

“Our discussion focused on the steps we are taking to address their issues, including an investment of KSh 7.2 billion for the construction of 15 new markets in Nairobi, eight of which are currently being built while seven are being tendered or purchased. The challenges of electricity and water were also discussed and the plan was agreed,” he said.

The President added that the national government is working closely with the Nairobi County Government to develop a comprehensive and effective waste and waste management plan, which is expected to be implemented soon.

Did Ruto disburse NYOTA funds in Nairobi?

Just a day earlier, Ruto launched the disbursement of KSh 258.4 million NYOTA Business Capital Support funds for 10,337 young businesspeople from Nairobi, Kiambu, and Kajiado counties.

The event was held at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Nairobi.

Prior to that, over 9,800 young men and women from Bomet, Baringo and other South Rift counties received KSh 22,000 each in the initiative’s first phase.

In the past week, the president also launched the disbursement of KSh 147.5 million for 5,901 beneficiaries from Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties, Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos town.
