In a Twitter message on Tuesday, January 20, Junet dismissed reports of a split in the Orange party ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Is the ODM party divided?

Junet was responding to a newspaper article which showed that there are two camps in ODM, one led by Oburu Oginga and the other by Winnie Odinga.

However, the Suna East MP said that the Orange party was under the leadership of the Siaya senator.

“There is only one undivided ODM party led by the party leader Oburu Oginga. The ODM party is well organized with well-functioning party organs,” Junet said.

Speaking about the existing cracks in the party, Junet said the movement allows intense internal debates on each controversial issue before reaching a final decision.

He added that once the relevant organs of the party agree on the position, everyone in the movement is expected to agree regardless of their different opinions.

What was Junet Mohamed’s message to Uhuru?

“The ODM party allows a strong internal debate on various issues, while each member is allowed to hold and express his opinion, and persuade other members to adopt their positions. However, once the relevant party bodies agree on the position, the basic expectation of the party is that we are all on the same line. This is what trust, honesty and loyalty means,” he said.

Junet criticized Uhuru more indirectly, saying that the former president should stop thinking that there is division in the Orange party.

“There is no explosion, and there won’t be. The sooner this sinks into the mind of the Gatundu newspaper owner, the better,” said the Suna East MP.

Winnie Odinga on why Raila agreed to work with Ruto

Recently, the daughter of the late prime minister Raila Odinga criticized some ODM leaders who were supporting the government of Kenya First under a comprehensive plan.

Speaking during a political rally in Kamukunji on Sunday, January 18, Winnie denied claims by some ODM leaders that Raila Odinga he left them in the government of President William Ruto.

Winnie described ODM’s history as a pro-people movement, claiming that Raila and Ruto’s partnership sought national stability, not betrayal of the party or its supporters.

He criticized the leaders for falsely claiming that the late former prime minister directed them to support the government, deeming the claims misleading and disrespectful.
