The ODM leader described the current political arrangement as temporary, stressing that ODM’s long-term goals are to share power equally with Ruto.
“I want to assure you that with your help, when we cooperate with others, we will ensure that ODM, as the largest party in Kenya, gets its fair share in the government. The current political arrangement is just a small thing. We want fair representation in the government in 2027. We want to share power. We want to share power,” Oburu said firmly.

The opposition leader in Parliament warned the ruling party of UDA not to interfere with ODM’s boundaries, noting that ODM’s areas are not interfered with by any party.
Based on Junet’s words, it seems that ODM will demand “zoning” of electoral areas in its alliance plan with UDA.
“The ODM party is not an NGO to push for the rights of the people. It was founded with the intention of gaining power. If you want to start an NGO, go and start your own party. The last opposition leader was the late Raila Odinga. Others will be in government,” Junet said.
Can ODM get the post of Deputy President?
On the other hand, communication strategy Advice Mundalo said that it will be difficult for ODM to get the position of Deputy President.
He noted that even ODM leaders realize that it is impossible to get the position, especially due to the effectiveness of Kithur Kindiki in the Mbeere North by-election, which increased his popularity.
Kindiki led the UDA campaign and eventually won the seat despite stiff competition from the opposition-backed candidate Newton Karish.
According to Mundalo, the Orange party is in a good position to get the position of Speaker of the National Assembly and the position of Prime Minister.
