According to him, Raila has never been a blind follower and has always announced his political decisions openly.
“They have forgotten the history of ODM. In 2007, when the country was burning, ODM stood with the people. In 2013, the election was stolen. In 2017, the situation was worse and we protested. Those who are shouting today never even showed up at the swearing-in. In 2022, we entered the streets.
In 2024, Gen Z youths took to the streets and many were killed. Father came out to calm the country. He was not a blind follower. Not a single day did he tell us that he has left us anywhere. Anyone who says Baba told him something in secret is disrespecting him. Shut up. Dad always spoke in public,” he said.
Can Raila Odinga be replaced?
Winnie further declared that Raila Odinga is irreplaceable in Kenyan politics, describing him as the best leader the country has ever produced.
He urged ODM supporters to prepare for the upcoming internal processes of the party, including the National Delegates Conference (NDC), and remain politically alert.
“Baba is one in a million. We will never find another like him. You cannot copy and paste Baba. You cannot copy and paste the best leader Kenya has ever seen and put someone else in his place. It is impossible. As ODM, we must involve the youth, women and the elderly. Get ready. Have your ID and voter card. Elections are coming in Nairobi, then NDC, and when we get to NDC, things will be difficult,” he said.
