The 2025 KCSE results have finally been announced, and parents and students across Kenya are rejoicing with joy and surprise at the top performers.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle, some of the best minds in the country from the past years are still attracting many not because of the exams anymore, but because of the ways they went through after shining in the national exams.

The three students who dominated the 2019 KCSE are now not just names on the result sheet, but real evidence that getting high grades is not for nothing, and dreams have a great chance of coming true after getting an A grade.

That year, the best student was Buluma Tony Wabuko from Kapsabet Boys Secondary School, who got an A plain score of 87.159 points.

Maryann Njeri Barasa from Kenya High School was second with 87.087 points, while Aboge David Odhiambo from Kapsabet took third place with 87.080 points.

Tony Wabuko

After excelling in the 2019 KCSE, Tony, who admitted his results exceeded even his wildest dreams, recounted how he would sometimes sleep for just two hours to have time to study.

With great faith and hope, the young student explained that his dream was to study medicine at the University of Nairobi.

As he wished, Tony joined the University of Nairobi to study medicine and is expected to graduate in 2027.

Maryann Njeri

Maryann was the best female student in the country in the 2019 KCSE and also placed second overall after Tony.

He studied at Kenya High School, and after his KCSE victory, he said he was sure about the profession he wanted to pursue, although he was clear that he would like to become a doctor, especially a surgeon.

Last year, the talented girl shared a video explaining the direction of her life.

Maryann revealed that she continued her studies at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, United States.

There, he studied for a degree in Biology and graduated with top honors in 2025. His academic journey did not end there.

He explained that he applied and was accepted to Yale School of Medicine on a full scholarship.

He has big dreams about neuroscience and focuses on learning about the human brain.

Aboge David Odhiambo

The third best student was Aboge, who also studied at Kapsabet Boys.

He expressed his gratitude to his parents and the church for the support they gave him during the 2019 KCSE.

Recently, he appeared on the page of Ask Harvard Studentswhere he explained that he got a chance to join Harvard University through the program of early action and is currently in the United States.

He revealed that he applied with the help of a program to help Kenyan students get into international universities, and shortly after he was successful.

Doctoral student advises KCSE 2025 candidates

In other news, a medical student from Kenya has advised KCSE 2025 candidates on medical courses with great employment opportunities.

Through his video of TikTokthe student listed some doctoral courses that give graduates the best chance of getting a job.

He noted that a degree in Medicine and Surgery as well as Dentistry are often highly valued.
