Kirinyaga County: The elected Member of Parliament for Kirinyaga County Lucy Njeri Mwaniki has narrated the painful and terrifying incident of meeting with the accused of murdering her beautiful daughter, Seth Nyakio.

Seth Nyakio, who was a student at Zetech University, was sadly persuaded to stay with his friends there Thika. Later, he was found dead in the house, and his mother was deeply saddened by his death.

In December 2025, the young man accused of killing Nyakio was finally arrested and brought to court. After learning that Ken Kimathi had been arrested, Njeri told TUKO.co.ke that he was relieved.

At that time, many people comforted him again, asking him to get justice soon. Although that was an important step in the year-long quest for justice, nothing prepared him for the day he would meet Kimathi in court.

What is the status of Nyakio’s case?

“Today I attended the hearing of the murder case of my daughter Nyakio in the Kiambu Court. Seeing the man who allegedly attacked and killed her in court was a sad and scary thing,” he told TUKO.co.ke.

“The judge has given five days for mental evaluation. All other conspirators and conspirators will appear in court soon. I will keep you updated as the process progresses. Thank you for your prayers and support,” he added.

Seth Nyakio’s mother writes a painful post

In the previous story, Njeri made herself very lonely while traveling on vacation months after her daughter was killed, and while there, she wrote an emotional post.

Sitting on the steps of the Kenya Railway Station on her way to Mombasa alone, she admitted to having the loneliest and scariest holiday ever.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Njeri also shared that the police had assured him that they would deal with his case, and he urged them to speed up the process.
