How did Babu attack Sakaja’s leadership?

In his statements, the strong member of parliament said that leadership starts with discipline and personal responsibility.

He argued that a person who is impatient and committed to personal development cannot be trusted to be given public power.

The statements were widely interpreted as a direct attack on the reputation and record of Sakaja’s leadership at City Hall.

“A person who does not have the patience to sit in class and do his own exams cannot solve the challenges facing the residents of Nairobi,” said Grandpa.

Babu did not limit himself to personal attacks, but placed his arguments in a wider political and moral context, insisting that Nairobi’s problems stem from poor management of public resources.

He described the county as burdened with litter and corruption, painting a picture of a city that, in his view, has suffered from years of mismanagement.

According to the young politician, the capital city needs a strong, responsible leadership, in order to reverse the ongoing downward trend.

Is Babu being pressured to compete for senior leadership?

To emphasize his point, Babu referred to the parable of the talents from the book of Matthew.

In that case, the master hands his servants a different amount of money before leaving on the journey.

When he returns, those who invested well are rewarded, while the servant who hid what was given to him is punished for being irresponsible.

Babu compared what he called Sakaja’s bad leadership to the last servant, saying that leaders who fail to promote and protect what they have been given should be removed from the bond.

“So what did the master do? He dismissed the servant because he was an irresponsible person like the dimples. That is why there is a saying that says, what little you have will be taken and given to those who have,” he added.

Beyond the criticism, Babu used the platform to signal his political ambition, announcing his intention to run for the seat of Nairobi governor, saying he has the ability to lead the city.

He presented the ambition as a response to public demands, not personal ambitions, claiming that many Kenyans have pushed him to take on a greater role of national leadership.

According to him, opinions are divided, many wanting him to run for governor, while others are pushing him to run for the presidency.

“I am telling you today in front of God Almighty, by God’s grace, that we will be the next governor of Nairobi. But I will leave the window open because I received about 9,000 messages—sorry, not 9,000—that’s 9 million people telling me to go for the presidency. Then 8.9 million telling me to go for the governorship,” said Grandpa.
