Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, her daughter Linda Matano confirmed the death of Mary Wandera, saying that her mother began to fall ill in November 2024 and was diagnosed with colon cancer.

“Mom was diagnosed with colon cancer in November 2024, and unfortunately it spread to her bones and caused a fracture. We were waiting for her to settle down to treat the fracture, then start treating the cancer, but sadly she died on January 13,” said Linda.

“He broke his hip and bone, but he was never strong enough,” he further explained.

The family is meeting at Lumumba Block AB6-5886, where he went to be with the Lord after a short illness while under medical care. Wandera is survived by Coach Robert Matano (currently of KCB), Linda Namde (Fela), Fela Namde, and the late Brian Wandera (Brayo).

“We are asking for your prayers and financial support during this time of mourning. Funeral arrangements will be submitted in due course, but for now, meetings are being held daily at his home.”
