Pastor Victor Mwangi Kanyari, in an interview, has opened up about the KSh 310 saga that changed the direction of his life.
In 2014, Mohammed Ali, now a Member of Parliament, through Jicho Pevu, exposed the pastor about the KSh 310 plan, a saga that shocked the nation.
The amount of money he got from the application was KSh 310
Mohammed Ali revealed that he received information from several Kenyans about Kanyari claiming to be able to cure various diseases.
In the investigation, it was found that Kanyari had dropped out of school in the second form, and as a television preacher he encouraged Kenyans to send KSh 310 through the numbers he provided to receive miraculous healing.

Several years later, the preacher has claimed that he was receiving up to KSh 1 million a day from Kenyans when he was running the program.
He told the interviewer to calculate the amount he was earning per month, claiming that he had accumulated a large amount of money over the past four years.

Kanyari said he was only asking for a small amount of KSh 310 and the Kenyans were ready to send it.
“I used to get KSh 1 million a day. Now imagine getting that for 30 days, that’s KSh 30 million. It was a lot of money. I asked for KSh 310 for four years, so you can do the math of KSh 1 million a day for four years. Even if you eat money, you can’t finish it. It was a small amount, no one would be angry. Even now if I tell people to give KSh 30 they shouldn’t be angry. It’s like buying me tea and mandasi. But they are many,” he said.
The attitude of netizens about Kanyari’s statement
Here is what some of them said:
mercywanjallah: “Mboka is a mboka. Eh, Kanyari, but in those days he misled people very badly. Look at what he says KSh 30 is, while other people are even struggling to get food.”
iam_anniey: “This confidence is very dangerous. He knows nothing will be done to him.”
briimzdj: “Using the name of God to deceive people is blasphemy. May God have mercy on this man.”
ivysbeautyke: “A little more with God ahead.”
gsdgen2024: “I think Islam as a religion is understandable; you cannot see an imam or a sheikh doing this.”
Did Kanyari meet her children again?
In other news, the preacher met his children again, Sky Victor and Danny, after returning from England.
Kanyari was with the children’s stepfather, Tash. The video revived the parenting debate that arose after the death of Betty Bayo.
