The nine-year-old (name withheld) was shown being hit with a hammer in their home Eldoret Sunday, January 11, leaving deep marks on his back.
Why did the police officer hit his son?
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, the child’s mother, Brenda Naftal, who showed the sad videos, explained the situation.
The mother of three said the child was beaten because he referred to his books when answering questions about the work his father had given him.
“He has been beaten many times. Sometimes it is for not saying goodbye to him in the morning, washing his face, or giving incorrect answers to homework. My five-year-old son was beaten so badly that he ran away from home,” ashe said, claiming that she herself was hit twice.
“My two-year-old child cannot even cry in front of his father,” he added.
Brenda, aged 28, explained that she reported the matter to the Matunda Kakamega Police Station, but the officers favored the side of her husband, Meshack Ogoti, forcing her to seek help online to leave the house.
She noted that the violence started a few months after their marriage in 2016, but she continued to forgive him, hoping for a change.
“His family protects him, so it’s difficult for him to adjust,” he said with prayers for justice for his three children.

How Meshack Ogoti said after injuring a child
Ogoti, 38, who works at Mbagathi National Hospital in Nairobi, admitted to the incident but insisted that he only tried to discipline his son.
“It was a method of discipline. Right now I am depressed. I haven’t eaten for three days. Our marriage was not 100% peaceful, but this recent incident has shown me that my wife had trapped me,” he said.
Ogoti explained that he often helps his children with their studies. On the day of the incident, he claimed his daughter asked him to do her homework.
He wrote the questions from his books and put them aside, but later realized he had tried to steal the correct answers.
“So I called him and punished him to warn him that it is wrong to lie. I didn’t know my wife was capturing me on video,” he explained, adding, “I admit I was wrong. These pictures have made me go viral on the internet,” he admitted.
Ogoti admitted that the matter was reported to Deputy OCS Makutano, but claimed it was resolved.
Has officer Meshack Ogoti been abusing his wife?
He denied the allegations of abusing his wife and gave weight to allegations of frequent violence, claiming that Brenda would not retaliate if he had been beating her.
He argued that Brenda has refused to answer him despite his desire to apologize and reunite with the family.
“I would like to talk to him and apologize, but he stopped talking to me and does not answer my calls or messages,” he said.
