The deceased, identified as Simon Muteru Mutitu, a father of three, was last seen alive about two weeks ago, Saturday, January 3, after having dinner at his brother’s house inside the family farm.

Citizen Digital reported that the 50-year-old man reportedly left shortly after, saying he was heading to his home nearby.

Concerns about his whereabouts increased the next day when his brother noticed that Mutitu’s house had remained locked outside all day, a situation the family described as unusual.

Despite efforts to find him, including searching relatives and neighbors, there was no information, leading the family to report the matter to the authorities.

The discovery came on Friday, January 9, when Mutitu’s dismembered body was found dumped in a pit latrine on one of the family’s farms.

According to residents, the little-used toilet, located some distance from the main compound, became the scene of his death.

An investigator from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder.

The killing has created fear and anger among the residents of the area, while community members want justice to be done quickly and investigations to be done quickly.
