His wife, Sweet Fella, has spoken out about his condition, revealing the emotional and financial strain she is carrying as her husband struggles to recover.
Speaking to the journalists of Tanzaniahe said he chose to speak publicly after realizing that many people close to Mkubwa Fella were completely isolated, because they believe Diamond Platnumz is fully supporting the family — something he insists is not true.
“I didn’t post on Instagram so that people could pay my husband for the good he did for them. I spoke so that people know that I am fighting alone to make sure my husband recovers,” she said.
Sweet Fella recalled how, when her husband was well, their phones never stopped ringing.
“People used to call him late at night, even until dawn. When they couldn’t reach him, they would call me and ask me to wake him up because they needed him. Today, those calls are completely lost,” he said, adding that the silence has been painful and confusing.
He revealed that he is now bearing the full financial burden of Mkubwa Fella’s treatment, despite his great contribution in building several jobs in the Tanzanian entertainment industry.
Speaking about the role of Diamond Platnumz, Sweet Fella admitted that the Wasafi boss helped finance Mkubwa Fella’s medical trip to India last year but said the support ended there.
“Of course Diamond knows Fella is sick. He helped us travel to India for treatment, and for that I am grateful,” he said in a telephone interview with Global Online TV.
“But after that, there was silence. I believe he could have done more. That’s why I wanted people to understand that now I’m alone.”
